Spatial analysis of land use efficiency for transportation purposes in Kut City

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the efficiency of land use for transportation purposes in the city of Kut, considering transportation as one of the basic components of infrastructure and an important indicator of the city's development level. The importance of the research lies in the need for continuous assessment of land use to contribute to improving transportation efficiency and sustainability, through the application of modern analysis and evaluation mechanisms and techniques. The results of the study indicate a decline in the level of the city's transportation system in recent years, as a result of population growth and urban expansion, as well as an increase in the number of vehicles. This has led to the emergence of problems such as difficulty accessing various activities, in addition to the large disparity in the distribution of vehicles on the road network. The study also revealed a clear disparity in the areas allocated for transportation, which calls for the development of effective planning solutions to enhance transportation efficiency and achieve an optimal distribution of land uses, which contributes to improving traffic flow and achieving urban sustainability.
