Abstract

The Moroccan family has been and continues to undergo various and continuous transformations, driven by a range of economic, social, cultural, and other factors. However, these changes accelerate and become more complex for Moroccan families in the context of migration, as these families move from one society to another, which is different in terms of customs, traditions, beliefs, language, and way of life. This transition is not only from one geographical space to another, but also from living within a culture they were born and raised in, to facing another culture with which they must adapt to its values, standards, and language. This situation becomes more complicated as generations of children from these migrant families are born in the host country, where parents become responsible for transmitting the language, culture, and heritage of their home country to their children, while also resisting the influence of the majority culture in the host country, in order to create a balance between these children’s ethnic identity and their national identity.
