Evaluation of the content of the chemistry book for the third intermediate grade in light of the evaluation standards of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS))

Abstract

The current research aims to evaluate the content of the chemistry book for the third intermediate grade in the Republic of Iraq in light of the evaluation standards of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), The researcher used the content analysis method which is one of the descriptive methods, The search tool was represented by the list of content evaluation standards according to the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), after reviewing and translating it into Arabic, The list of criteria consisted of five main criteria under which there were (8) sub-criteria and (31) sub-indicators, The researcher analyzed and evaluated the content of the chemistry book for the third intermediate grade for the academic year (2023-2024) with (146) pages in light of the list of criteria to verify the extent to which the chemistry book content includes them, Using Holsti's equation the stability coefficient of the analysis was calculated in agreement with an external analyst, the researcher and herself over time, After evaluating the chemistry book in light of the list of criteria the researcher concluded that the content of the chemistry book for the third intermediate grade was at a good level compared to the spoken percentage that the researcher adopted based on the opinions of experts which is (70%). In light of the research results the researcher came up with a number of recommendations and a number of proposals.
