Abstract

An elaborate system of connected entities of the agri-food system, which encompasses farmers, processors, distributors, retailers, and consumers. Due to its development, it faces problems like food fraud, contamination, and poor provenance which weaken food safety and consumer confidence. This research is to suggest a blockchain solution for tackling these challenges with using the abilities of blockchain; decentralization and immutability. The framework uses IoT devices to continuously collect data and smart contacts for automatically enforcing compliance with safety requirements. The outcomes show that there are enormous benefits for increasing traceability, which results in improved transparency and reduction of fraud, and therefore consumer confidence and trust in the agri-food chain.
