The Scholars and Mosques of Hilla in the Writings of Historian University of Babylon, Babylon Center for Historical and Civilizational Studie

Abstract

Those who do not know their history cannot understand their present reality or build their future! This becomes even more important when history is full of successes and includes the names of many innovators who enlightened the world and lifted it from ignorance to the light of knowledge and learning. Today, we explored the life of an Iraqi figure from Hilla who gained the love of hearts and the affection of the poor, helping them both financially and morally: Mr. Mahmoud Shukr Abu Khamrah. I explored Hilla's libraries for his books and writings, which gained wide fame, covering social, economic, political, and religious issues. He also wrote about what he witnessed, including landmarks, mosques, shrines, and Hilla tribes, both within the city and outside it, through field studies and mapping the old shops of the city of Hilla.
