Abstract

He task of eliciting latent meanings and extracting intentions from within linguistic links and semiotic signs has captured the attention of literary criticism scholars. Various approaches to "discourse analysis" seek to untangle the engagement and close interconnection between the linguistic phenomenon and societal reality. Discourse analysis utilizes structures and expressive symbols as a tool to reread the ideological visions embedded within texts, aiming to uncover their social manifestations and deconstruct their hidden intellectual backgrounds. Thus, discourse analysis represents an approach that starts from the textual structure to monitor both the subjective and contextual standards of the text simultaneously. Norman Fairclough's thesis on critical discourse analysis emerges as one of the most prominent theoretical frameworks in this field; it attempts to interrogate and critique the dominant system of power and authority in the environment that produced the literary work, relying on three structural pillars: description, interpretation, and explanation. Based on this vision, the current reading—through employing the descriptive-analytical approach and desk research mechanisms—aims to approach the Quranic text of the discourse in the blessed Surah Taha according to the three dimensions adopted in Fairclough's critical model. The findings may conclude that there is a close cohesion and an organic relationship between linguistic performance and the external socio-cultural context of the story; starting from comforting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to providing psychological support and demonstrating the outcome of the dawah, mirroring the story of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and his overcoming of various enemies through diverse miracles.
