Abstract

The concepts of abode and refuge are important and contemporary topics, as many people use these terms to describe life in the grave (Barzakh) as the final abode or final refuge, failing to consider that life in the grave is not the end. There is resurrection, judgment, and afterward, a person will either enter Paradise or Hell. This research includes a study of the linguistic and technical meanings of abode and refuge, clarifying their correct meaning as explained by our scholars of exegesis. It also addresses the doctrinal implications of these concepts, in addition to their exegetical meaning, and examines the verses that contain these concepts. Furthermore, it discusses the ruling on the misuse of these concepts. The research also touches upon life in the grave (Barzakh) due to the doctrinal dimensions these concepts carry when used inappropriately. And from God comes success.
