Abstract

       This article presents a purely critical book, distinguished in applied criticism, highlighting writers, creators, and artists from the Arab world (mostly Arab) and the West (particularly Western), whose works emerged since the beginning of the twentieth century. The author of the book is Jabra Ibrahim Jabra (1920-1994), a Palestinian critic and writer who is widely recognized in the Arab literary and cultural scene. His close connections with those he wrote about and critiqued are very close, making this book and other critical works by Jabra an example of refined taste, demonstrating the authenticity of writers' experiences and revealing their hidden secrets.
