Abstract

 The new media, in all its forms, represents one of the manifestations of interaction within the framework of modern communication and information technology, and it has played an important and significant role in promoting political contribution and shaping public opinion trends. The new media considered an effective means of communication that allows communities to send ideas and discuss their political and social issues, sent to new horizons overcoming all spatial bounders. This study deals with the issue of political contribution and the formation of public opinion and attempts to answer a major question : What is the role of the new media in promoting political contribution and shaping public opinion trends in Sudan ?  The significance of this study resides in the fact that it discusses an important and vital topic for a wide part of the public with increased exposure of all parts of society to new media and the dissemination, manipulation, and discussion of political information, especially with the major changes that occurred in political life in Sudan after the December 2018 revolution.  The study aims at identifying the role of the new media in developing and strengthening political contribution in Sudan.  The researchers adopt the description analytical method via social survey. Sample selected through a purposive sample from the original community. A questionnaire is the main tool for collecting data related to the study.
