Abstract

The research population was selected from primary schools under the Baghdad Rusafa Third Education Directorate for the academic year )2018-2019 The researcher adopted an experimental design, and the sample( was purposefully selected from Al-Miraj Elementary School for Boys, consisting of 70 students, divided into an experimental group (35 students) and a control group (35 students). The study covered topics from the Arabic reading curriculum for second-grade students. The researcher prepared teaching plans, behavioral objectives, and a post-test. The results were statistically analyzed using various statistical methods, including one-way analysis of variance, chi-square test, independent samples t-test, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson correlation coefficient, Kuder-Richardson formula, and Spearman-Brown formula.

The results revealed that students in the experimental group, who were taught using programmed storytelling, outperformed the control group who were taught using the traditional method in reading. Based on these findings, the researcher made a set of recommendations and suggested conducting further studies to complement the research
