Speech therapy treatment for oral comprehension in deaf children after cochlear implantation

Abstract

Speech therapy for deaf children post-cochlear implantation focuses on three core areas: developing auditory perception (detection, discrimination, identification, and comprehension) through iterative exercises; utilizing a variety of auditory stimuli; and training listening skills in increasingly complex environments, including background noise and fast-paced speech. Sound localization and telephone use are also key components of the therapy.
